Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about our trip to Budapest this past March. With all the good memories from our four day visit, I find myself thinking how we could go back and spend some extended time in the area, like maybe one to three months. And then reality kicks in.
Oh well, here are a few visual memories from our first trip to a fascinating city — Budapest, Hungary:
The Danube River with the Chain Bridge and the Parliament Building in the distance.
The Chain Bridge, opened in 1849, spans the Danube River connecting Buda to Pest.
The Hungarian Parliament seen from the Buda side of the Danube.
The Gothic Revival style Parliament Building was inaugurated on the 1000th anniversary of the country in 1896, and completed in 1904.
The Parliament Building’s Great Hall, one of the many highlights of a very popular tour of the interior.
Assembly Hall, in the preferred ornate gold leaf decorating style.
More on Budapest tomorrow.
